This Privacy Policy explains how Wingman ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website at worldcupwingman.com and our mobile web app (together, the "Service").
The data controller is Emelia Beeson, an individual based in Spain. For any privacy-related queries, contact support@worldcupwingman.com.
1. What we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to provide the Service:
When you sign up:
Your email address
A password (stored as a salted hash — we never see your plain-text password)
Your locale and timezone (so we can show you matches at sensible times)
When you enable push notifications:
A push subscription identifier issued by your browser. This allows us to send notifications but does not identify you personally beyond your account.
When you make a purchase:
Payment is handled entirely by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. We do not receive or store your card details. Paddle provides us with a transaction reference and your country (for tax and analytics purposes).
When you use the Service:
Basic usage data (which matches you view, which lines you tap, anonymous performance metrics) collected via Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-respecting and does not use cookies or fingerprinting.
When you contact us:
Whatever you choose to send us in your message, including your email address.
2. What we don't collect
We do not collect, and have no interest in collecting:
Your card or bank details (Paddle handles all payment data)
Your precise location
Your contacts, photos, or anything else on your device
Your activity on other websites
Demographic data we have not asked you for
3. How we use your information
We use your information only to:
Provide the Service (show you the right content, send you notifications you opted into, take payments)
Communicate with you about your account (purchase receipts, important updates, support replies)
Improve the Service (understand which content is popular, fix bugs, plan new features)
Comply with legal obligations (tax records, responding to lawful requests)
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for behavioural advertising.
4. Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run the Service:
Paddle — processes all payments. See Paddle's privacy policy.
Supabase — hosts our database (EU region). See Supabase's privacy policy.
Vercel — hosts our application. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Cloudflare — provides DNS, security, and analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Anthropic — generates the bluff lines you read. Match data and prompts may be sent to Anthropic's API; no personal data about you is sent. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
We will share data with law enforcement or regulators only when legally compelled.
5. Where we store data
Your data is stored in the European Union (Supabase EU region, Vercel EU edge). Where data is transferred outside the EU (for example, to US-based services like Anthropic), it is protected by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
6. How long we keep data
Account data: while your account is active, and for up to 12 months after you delete your account
Purchase records: 6 years (Spanish tax law requirement)
Anonymous usage data: indefinitely, but it cannot be linked back to you
Support correspondence: 2 years
7. Your rights
Under GDPR and equivalent laws, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and associated data
Export your data in a portable format
Object to certain uses of your data
Withdraw consent for things you previously agreed to (like push notifications)
Complain to a data protection authority (in Spain, this is the AEPD)

8. Cookies and tracking
We use the minimum cookies needed to run the Service:
Essential cookies (login session, security)
No advertising or third-party tracking cookies
Our analytics provider, Cloudflare Web Analytics, does not use cookies and does not track you across other sites.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Service or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
